Lisa believes that when grievers tell their stories, they are often struggling to make sense of the event. Grievers, telling and retelling their stories, are an integral part of the grieving process. Lisa developed an approach for how to look at the journey of grief that removed the stages, expectations, and timeframes, banishing the word closure. The approach is more about weaving your loss into your life and honoring your journey instead of treating it like a problem to be solved.

Lisa Zoll graduated with her MSW from Temple University, Harrisburg in 2003. Her experience includes 12 years as a Clinical Psychiatric Specialist at the Penn State University Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. During her time there, she worked in the Adult Partial Hospitalization Program and Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic. In 2008, Lisa taught Loss & Grief as an Adjunct Instructor in the Master of Social Work at Temple University, Harrisburg. In 2014, she became a full-time faculty instructor, teaching courses across the curriculum until the closure of the program.

Lisa founded “Grief Relief, LLC” in 2019 and specializes in helping clients challenged by loss, grief, and trauma. She published several articles and literary works. Lisa regularly speaks on the local, state, and national level about how loss and grief impacts individuals, families, and organizations. She completed EMDR training in January 2022.
