Meet Katherine Kraft

Therapist

LAPC, MA-CMHC

Katherine places high value on the power of listening. It was during her 26-year nursing career that Katherine came to realize the meaning that listening held for her patients, and their loved ones. After stepping out of nursing to take care of a family member full time, Katherine decided to pursue a career in counseling to focus on the elements of nursing that felt most meaningful to her. She would consider it a privilege to listen to your story of grief, trauma, and/or other concerns- and help you find a way forward.

Katherine earned her B.S. in Nursing from Penn State University in 1995, and has experience in various critical care settings. She graduated from Messiah in 2025 with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds the NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor) credential. Her year-long field experience prior to graduation was successfully completed at a local Community Mental Health Site. It was here that she gained experience collaborating with clients from diverse backgrounds, and strives to provide culturally sensitive care to all clients.

In addition to listening, Katherine values collaboration and identification of strengths. She often utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) but incorporates techniques and interventions from other evidence-based therapies. Katherine also looks at concerns through a holistic lens, and welcomes clients who would like to bring their faith into the counseling process.
